About Us

Yes! We are the church with the inspiring (and sometimes humorous) quotes on our front sign.

Come and visit. Sit in our courtyard. Worship with us.

Be inspired by our stunning contemporary stained-glass windows in the sanctuary. Be renewed by the panoramic view of God’s creation as seen out the wall of windows in the Fellowship Hall.

Through worship, education, and service, we practice our faith, grow in our relationship with God, and experience God’s grace in our daily lives through the presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe in a loving God made known to us in Jesus Christ and His boundless love for all people of the world. Know that you are welcome.

As a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) with over 100 baptized members, we are one of nearly 8,600 congregations comprising nearly 2.9 million members across the United States.

Pastor

Pastor John Perez joins us from Texas where he was ordained. After completing a 4-year M.Div. program through the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He is ordained as minister of Word and Sacrament for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. His philosophy is having a servant’s heart and being a presence in the community.

“It’s about loving everyone regardless of who they are and where they may have been. It’s where they’re trying to go that matters to me.”

Pastor John loves to meet new folks and get to know what really affects/effects East Baton Rouge Parish.

Administrative Assistant

Leslie Lala our administrative assistant sees her role as ministry.

“It’s about meeting people where they’re at, not everyone is on the same level. Some folks need more than just our words.”

Leslie enjoys spending time with her husband Patrick and two sons.

Church Council

St. Paul’s Church Council supports the needs of the church. Through various committees and small groups to meet the physical, financial, and administration of the church.

“Our work continues the work of the Gospel by allowing us to work as a group to make decisions that guide our congregation.”

The Church Council meets every second Sunday of the month after service.
